Inspired by John Milton’s epic poem of the cosmic battle between good and evil, Satan’s revenge and the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, this ultra-contemporary new drama is fiercely engaging, irreverently funny and deeply moving. Richly infused with modern references and contemporary vernacular, Erin Shields’ witty script deftly highlights the original poem’s timeless potency and relevance. The Centaur’s presentation of this Stratford Festival production featured the addition of an outstanding Montreal cast. Paradise Lost was presented at Centaur Theatre from January 14 - February 2, 2020.
